Follow the Secrets of Champions … Discipline Yourself To A Set of Great Rituals
One of the principles that we can easily recognize by all great men and women who have made major contributions towards shaping the world that we live in, is that they ALL had a set of habits … GREAT RITUALS … that were a part of their daily activity.
In every industry … in any profession … and for every skillset imagined … the people who excelled and set the yardstick whereby all others are measured … all of these great men, and women formed “patterns” in their daily activities and their behaviors that were an essential ingredient in their accomplishments in life.
There are many categories of “great rituals” that these men and women used to their advantage over others.
Today, we’re going to focus on 5 Great Rituals that are found to be common in all successful people.
We’ll call these 5 Great Rituals … “the Secrets of CHAMPIONS“.
Quieting the Mind – Meditation
Nearly every great champion who has overcome amazing challenges …
– from the ancient prophets to modern day advocates for social change
– from inventors to industrialists
– from scientists to sports heroes
Every one of these CHAMPIONS has spoken or written about the powerful effects of taking periods of time, at the beginning and at the end of the day, to completely quiet the mind and developing the ability to free one’s self from all of the constant bombardment of the day’s concerns.
The ability to meditate, breathe, and totally relax the body and mind are essential tools that give you an inward sense of your capacity to control your own “self” …in spite of the circumstances of the moment.
Discipline yourself to make the time in your schedule for this important practice.
This is one of the foundational Secrets of the CHAMPIONS that you should incorporate as a daily ritual.
Physical Fitness
Let’s Face It … The more fit you are, the better your entire body, mind, and spirit are able to handle stress … on any level.
You already KNOW if you are close to your ideal weight, for your height and age.
What’s most important is a “routine” … a “GREAT RITUAL” …that you can adopt and maintain.
For example, if you were to discipline yourself to 15-20 minutes of exercise for 4 out of 7 days, that would be enough to keep you in great health.
How much exercise?
Enough to get you to the point of perspiring …
then, maintain that level for at least 5 minutes.
Here’s the idea.
– 5 minutes of warm-up, beginning with stretching
– 5minutes to the point of perspiration
– 5 minutes to maintain that state
– 5 minutes of cool-down, ending with stretching
CHAMPIONS GET THIS DONE !
This is another one of the Secrets of CHAMPIONS that you should strive to adopt as your own.
Eat in Moderation – At set periods
Eating in moderation involves not only “what” you eat …
but also the “times-of-the-day” and the “portions” that you eat !
I’ll allow you to consult with experts, regarding the kinds of foods you should consume, but we can follow the secrets of champions to get our ques on how much they eat, and at what times.
The body is a very amazing machine.
Just as any machine … regular maintenance is better than a major overhaul.
The same holds true for our consumption.
Think of it this way.
Because your body is “depending” on great nutrients to perform optimally, it is “better” to introduce those nutrients at regular intervals 3 to 5 times in a day … between the hours where the sun is above the horizon.
We have a whole system of hormone and helpful enzyme flow, called “the circadian rhythms”, that support an active “day-light” lifestyle.
If you keep you heavier eating “rituals” between the hours of day-light (sun-up to sun-down) you body will perform optimally.
As humans, our bodies have been pre-programmed for maintenance and repair after the sun goes down.
So hard physical effort, eating, and insufficient rest … after sundown … will eventually show its devastating effects.
Take the secrets of champions …
Treat your body to high-grade “rocket fuel” .
Do it in moderation … and keep you feedings to daylight hours as much as possible.
Study – Practice – Teach …
Progress Towards Mastery .. and the 80/10/10 Rule
CHAMPIONS spend their day … Making the MAIN THING, the MAIN THING!
In other words, champions learn to discard those habits and distractions that do not serve their major purpose, and they embrace practice and rituals that propel them towards their purpose.

In the case of great orators, journalists, poets and social activists … we can include the art of painting pictures with the use of words.
It is said that “we don’t get what we want … we only get what we have the ability to PICTURE.
That being the case, one of the definitive secrets of champions is there ability to paint vivid PICTURES of what they want to achieve, at every stage of their life journey … then, the ATTRACT IT THROUGH PERSISTENT ACTION.
